Patient Clinical Administration Apprentice Assistant

We have an exciting opportunity for a Patient Clinical cum Administration Assistant, to join our team, at Leicester / Leigh on Sea

This is a combined role between patient clinical and administration assistant. The role will be to assist the multi-disciplinary team to provide exemplary patient administration within the Diagnostic Imaging / Endoscopy department, providing an efficient understanding of patients’ issues, providing business solutions, assisting with bookings service, and operating within set protocols. Ensuring accurate completion of all appropriate audit materials and issue of Diagnostic Imaging / Endoscopy reports.

 

Full Training & Defined Standard of operating procedures will be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities

 

Patient Clinical Assistance Activities (For Leigh on Sea )

  • Expected to fulfil the roles of taking patient health questionnaires, positioning patients in the scanner and ensuring that you deliver the optimum number of parts per day, notionally identified as 36 + per day, under supervision of Radiographer.
  • Trained to perform patient administration & pre preparation activities in Endoscopy Department, under supervision of Nurse.
  • To allow patients to be examined in a safe environment, to implement safety awareness in MRI, Endoscopy Processes and Radiation protection and ensure that untoward incidents are reported.
  • To obtain accurate MRI images / Endoscopy Reports in accordance to the safety guidelines /protocols of the unit
  • Assigned in selecting options for the software and also in adjusting the MRI table and the MRI machine basing on the specific images that has to be carried out.
  • Have good communication skills to explain the procedure to their patients to alleviate their fear and anxiety.

 

Patient Administration Assistance Activities (For both Leigh on Sea & Leicester)

 

  • To assist administration work & support patients and their relatives throughout their journey at Chartwell Private Hospital from admission to discharge.
  • Dealing with patients, identifying the issues based on SOP Defined, and advising the right MRI scans / Endoscopy Procedures needed, assisting patients with clarity to the process and promoting all the services the business holds, thereby booking the patient for the correct MRI Scan / Endoscopy Procedures
  • The post holder must also perform accurate data entry into the radiology information system, PACS and all the electronic records pertinent to the Department of Radiology.
  • Contact patients and arrange Diagnostic Imaging / Endoscopy appointments liaising with other departments as appropriate.

 

 

 

  • Provide explanations of estimates for pricing of Diagnostic Imaging procedures / Endoscopy for self- funding patients as required.
  • Input patient data on to hospital and diagnostic imaging / endoscopy systems as well as collect, collate, and report routine and simple data and information e.g. NHS and BUPA spreadsheet data.
  • Comply with data protection requirements.
  • Transfer and deliver Diagnostic Imaging / Endoscopy reports to appropriate destinations.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Education to GCSE standard to include English and Maths (Grade C / 4 or above)
  • Preference for a Health and Social Care Achiever level 2 or 3.
  • Previous experience as a Health Care Assistant – preferred but not essential
  • Experience of planning work and acting under instruction.
  • Customer facing and administration experience is essential.
  • Strong Keyboard skills and computer literacy

You will be undertaking a Business Administration level 3 (A level equivalent) to support you in the Patients’ Dealing & Administration function of your role.  It is preferred for the ideal candidate to have a background in Health and Social care and / or previous experience as a Health Care Assistant.

Important Information

Working week:

45 hours per week - shifts between 8am - 8pm
Those under 18 will be fulfilling 40 hours per week
